The Victorian decor and ambience of the American Empress along with the gracious manners and hospitality of the staff,(special thank you to Janice and VJ), made the cruise a truly magical experience! And the Columbia River Gorge is awesome !

Constance & Michael from OR gives this voyage ★★★★★

We loved how this is a small boat so one does not feel like a sardine in cramped quarters. We opted for the more expensive B-Room 202 which was at the front of the ship & included a private veranda. The room was clean, nicely furnished, & ample for our needs. Whether we wanted an elegant 5-course meal or more casual fare, we feasted on lobster, steak, veal marsala, & salmon to burgers, ribs, & barbeque chicken. Wines from the region, beer, soft drinks, coffee, & tea were free with each meal, & the portion sizes were sufficient. Almost all the ports had “hop on, hop off” buses, but we preferred walking instead. With the cool weather surprisingly dry for late November, there was plenty to do & enough downtime to relax or sit in a rocking chair on the deck & watch the water & wildlife. Thanks to AQSC, Captain Andrea, & her excellent staff (especially Mary). https://connywithay.wordpress.com/2018/12/01/american-empress-columbia-river-cruise/
